We started in 1997 as an in-house billing software project for Telenor's European ISP network. Thus our software was infused from day one with the domain expertise of a leading service provider, and has since been tested in the market by the most demanding users. In 2001, as a group of 5 technology professionals we spun off to form PortaOne, Inc., a firm devoted exclusively to high quality software products and the best technical support in industry.

Our software platform continues to benefit from our vast experience in working with telcos, as is quickly apparent from its long and ever-expanding list of supported features. PortaOne has more than a decade of experience in helping telecommunication companies from all over the globe implement their billing, customer mamagement, service provisioning, and switching solutions.

PortaOne is headquartered in Coquitlam, BC a city within Metro Vancouver in Canada. We also have technology offices in Europe, as well as representatives in other parts of the world: USA, Australia, and South Africa. All together we employ around 300 people around the globe. The vast majority of them are technical support engineers, quality assurance testers, software designers and developers, project and application engineers.

The company's main product PortaSwitch is an extremely flexible B/OSS & OCS and SBC & C4-5 softswitch platform which enables telecommunication service providers to launch, price, and provision an array of modern telecom services. PortaSwitch provides a comprehensive range of applications minimizing the time, costs, and risks associated with introducing advanced telecom networks.

Many of PortaOne’s customers have become aware of the benefits of implementing a robust and fully integrated B/OSS & OCS and SBC & C4-5 softswitch platform. Our solutions allow telecos to increase their revenue potential through a variety of usage-based billing options. The postpaid billing applications we provide allow providers to send customers detailed per-minute call records as monthly invoices. Our prepaid billing solutions allow customers to pay for minutes in advance (this usually takes the form of a debit card that runs down incrementally, with the service being canceled once the credit is exhausted).

Our provisioning features are contained in a software module which interacts with the billing systems. These features are web-based, thereby allowing service representatives to quickly provision clients and end-customers with call detail records.

The open architecture of PortaOne’s solutions makes it possible for enterprises to communicate and cooperate with each other, no matter what systems they use, what language they speak, or what currency they do business in.
