In addition to all standard features of PortaBilling100, PortaBilling100 Advanced offers a simultaneous multiprocessing architecture to benefit from the additional processing power of the core billing server. This provides an almost linear increase of performance per each processor in the system.

This product is primarily recommended for service providers and carriers whose monthly traffic load exceeds 20 million minutes.
20M minutes per month is a pretty good benchmark for the standard configured systems that usually deal with up to 40 requests per second. If you expect your system to manage over 40 requests per second, you may want to consider PortaBilling100 Advanced at traffic load levels lower than 20M min/month.
PortaBilling100 Advanced is specially designed to work together with NextPoint Mutiprotocol Session Exchange (MSX). MSX is an advanced VoIP session border controller and switch incorporating H323 and SIP proxy, as well as an H323-SIP protocol converter.
Please Download PortaBilling100 Advanced for NexTone Guide, a document that provides information on setting up the product in conjunction with NextPoint MSX.
Architecture
Features
PortaBilling100 Advanced provides the following functionality in addition to the standard PortaBilling100:
- Modified RADIUS server to allow real-time authentication/authorization for calls passing via NextPoint
- A different handling of dictionaries in the RADIUS server so the billing can simultaneously communicate with NextPoint and with Cisco/PortaSIP nodes (or other gateways, using Cisco VSAs). This allows running services such as pre-paid cards, where the IVR is provided on the Cisco gateway and then call is sent to the NextPoint
- Modified billing engine code, to supply workarounds for providing services not directly supported by NextPoint: real-time authorization for credit accounts, toll-free calls, etc.
- Special handling of call-id/h323-conf-id conversion to hybrid (SIP->H323, H323->SIP) calls
- Various modifications for the billing engine logic (e.g. to support ANI/IP based billing according to the information supplied by NextPoint
- Several additional custom reports to facilitate the management (e.g. "Full LCR table", etc.)
- A script for importing NextPoint text CDR files (for off-line CDR import)
