We are thrilled to share some fantastic news from Vox, a member of the PortaOne customer community and a user of the PortaOne telecom billing platform. According to a recent business technology survey from MyBroadband, Vox is the most trusted provider of VoIP services in their home country of South Africa. This recognition from a panel of 783 business managers and executives highlights the exceptional quality and reliability of their enterprise telephony services.
The survey asked members of the South African business community who were responsible for ICT product decisions in their companies to identify the VoIP provider they trust the most for their company’s voice needs. Vox led the rankings with an impressive 48% of the vote, underscoring their high levels of reliability and customer service in the South African VoIP market.
With the support of PortaSwitch, the PortaBilling telecom billing platform, and other PortaOne solutions, Vox offers a comprehensive range of business voice solutions and cloud PBX tools. Vox also facilitates seamless number porting from existing operators to their voice service, making it easier for businesses to transition to their superior offerings.
In addition to being the top VoIP provider in South Africa, Vox has also secured the position of second most trusted enterprise telecommunications provider in the country, following industry giant Vodacom. Securing 20% of the vote, Vox has made significant strides in brand recognition, especially given its size relative to competitors.
The journey of Vox began in 1998, when the company first launched as a national internet and voice services provider known as DataPro. That year, the company had around 20 employees; by 2007, it had grown to a team of over 500 and had rebranded as Vox, setting its sights on becoming South Africa’s leading independent telecommunications operator. Today, Vox is a market-leading integrated ICT and infrastructure provider, achieving an impressive R2.9-billion turnover in 2020.
“When we support our customer base, they can support their own customers, and we want to offer them the most meaningful way to do that, with the most consistent service we can provide,” says Andrew King, head of division: voice, visual comms, and Microsoft at Vox. He attributes his company’s ability to build on, expand, and optimize their trusted service to the robust software solutions that his team has built around PortaSwitch: “PortaOne forms the heart of what we do from a communications business perspective… We’re always looking for ways to improve what we’re taking to market, how our customers are experiencing it, and how we can support that.”
Currently, Vox is exploring new avenues to enhance customer satisfaction by testing various products from the PortaOne Add-on Mart, such as the Cloud PBX Portal, the Sign-up Portal, PortaPhone, and the Whisper AI speech-to-text solution.
Congratulations to everyone at Vox from the whole team at PortaOne. We are proud to be part of the Vox journey and we look forward to continuing our partnership as the company reaches new heights.
