Htek and PortaOne, designer and manufacturer of enterprise IP phones, have announced successful completion of interoperability testing and auto-provisioning integration between Htek’s new UC900 series IP phones and PortaSwitch, PortaOne’s platform for Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS).
During rigorous interoperability testing, PortaOne engineers verified various features available in the SIP protocol (e.g., call pickup and Busy-Lamp-Field) to ensure that the implementation of SIP standards from both sides is compatible. The testing assures that in the end-user experience, everything will work seamlessly.
The auto-provisioning of Htek’s phones by PortaSwitch allows end users to simply plug in a new Htek phone and immediately start using it, without the need to go through any technical setup process such as manually entering user’s credentials. The auto-provisioning link between the phone and PortaSwitch then remains “active” in the future; regardless where the user may travel with the phone or which changes will be applied to his account, e.g., changing the phone number, the phone will obtain the new settings without any user’s intervention. In addition to increasing end customer satisfaction, automated provisioning also means cost reduction and time saving for Communication Service Providers (CSPs).
Htek offers a wide range of phones and accessories that help businesses enjoy greater productivity. Its UC900 series IP phones offer a variety of features and customizable options intended to fit every user requirement; the series includes basic desktop phones for call center operators, multi-line advanced devices for receptionists, and HD audio/video conferencing phones for executives.
The certified Htek products include:
- UC926, UC924, and UC923 gigabit color screen IP phones
- UC903 classic IP phone
- UC912G and UC902 entry-level IP phones
We are delighted to have this accreditation with PortaOne, and that our joint technology platforms create a more supportable IP phone integration for CSPs and an enhanced user experience for their customers. We are excited that every PortaSwitch provider can now deliver our phones to their end customers with the assurance that they will work out-of-the-box. This successful interoperability test is another example that we continuously strive to deliver the best possible value solution set to our customers and their end users.

Ensuring interoperability with Htek UC 900 series devices is an important step in extending the flexibility and value of PortaSwitch for communication service providers. We are proud that we have been able to complete this SIP interoperability test and develop the modules for phone auto-provisioning in under two months due to our agile software development process. Our standard development cycle takes as little as 7 weeks from start to release, including rigorous testing to ensure that all new features and plugins work seamlessly with the rest of the code.
