Global VoIP service provider Radius Communications and communications infrastructure company PortaOne, Inc. today announced that Radius has chosen PortaOne’s PortaSwitch IP multimedia subsystem as the main software platform to drive its wholesale and residential/business VoIP services. Radius executives explained that PortaSwitch, which replaces an earlier platform, will provide the stability and unlimited scalability Radius needs as it expands its VoIP business operations in North America, Asia, Australia and Europe.
With North American operations located in New York City, Radius Communications is a global telecommunications company providing VoIP services and integrated solutions to residential and business customers as well as to wholesalers, carriers and other business partners. Radius, which was founded in Nepal and still maintains headquarters offices there, currently has points of presence in the U.K. and U.S. It intends to soon expand its operations into Europe and Australia, with a goal of capturing market share on each of those continents.
As Radius Communications’ new IP multimedia subsystem, PortaSwitch will provide the necessary infrastructure for Radius to aggressively enhance its existing services and grow its subscriber base beyond its current business locales.
